Government Pledges to Boost Women’s Roles in Tech, Says Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja

Islamabad: In a recent webinar titled ‘Women Shaping the Tech Landscape of Pakistan,’ Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, affirmed the government’s commitment to empowering women through technology, recognizing their vital contributions to national development.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Khawaja highlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at equipping women with digital skills to enhance their participation in the tech sector. She emphasized that with improved digital capabilities, women could contribute economically from the comfort of their homes. The Ministry of IT is prioritizing skill development and capacity building, focusing particularly on young women.

The government’s efforts reflect a broader strategy to integrate more women into the tech industry, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities necessary to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
