Government Pledges Full Implementation of 4R Framework in Flood-hit Areas

Islamabad, 15 Oct 2023: The caretaker Minister for Planning and Development, Muhammad Sami Saeed, has asserted the government’s determination to fully enforce the Resilient, Recovery, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction (4R) framework. The statement was made during a review meeting in Islamabad, focusing on the ongoing implementation status of the 4R strategy.

Saeed, while chairing the meeting, emphasized the importance of swift progress by the provinces on projects begun in areas affected by floods. The provincial representatives were further directed to submit detailed lists of these specific initiatives.

Additionally, the Planning Ministry disclosed that an exclusive dashboard for the 4R Framework, designed to facilitate real-time monitoring, is nearing completion. This digital tool aims to offer pertinent information to donors and development partners.

Notably, donor agencies present in the meeting voiced their continued commitment to supporting projects in the flood-impacted zones.

According to the MOIB, these measures underscore the government’s commitment to flood recovery and establishing robust systems for future resilience.
