Government Intensifies Crackdown on Power Pilferage, Collects Billions


Islamabad, In a robust move to curb power theft, the government, through its relevant departments, has continued its stringent crackdown against power pilferage across the nation. This campaign has proven to be significantly impactful, with the latest statistics revealing that an impressive sum of 73.07 billion rupees has been collected since September of the previous year.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, this initiative is part of a broader effort to improve the energy sector’s efficiency and financial health. The crackdown not only aims to reduce losses in the power sector but also to ensure a more reliable and uninterrupted power supply to honest consumers by penalizing those involved in theft.
