According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the crackdown has so far resulted in the recovery of 103 billion rupees and the arrest of over 83,000 individuals for electricity theft across the country. These measures are aimed at deterring illegal activities that contribute to significant financial losses and disrupt power distribution systems.

The government’s ongoing actions reflect a serious commitment to enforcing the law and ensuring a reliable electricity supply for all citizens. This crackdown also aims to improve the financial health of power utilities, ultimately benefiting consumers by promoting fair usage and stabilizing energy prices.
