Islamabad, The Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, has announced the government’s efforts to establish industries at Gwadar port and enhance communication links with industrial areas. This statement was made during a meeting with the Gwadar Shipping Clearing Agents Association in Islamabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of providing employment and high-quality facilities to the local population of Gwadar, acknowledging its significance in the development of this critical port under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The delegation proposed that official cargos should be imported via Gwadar port to fully operationalize it. Responding to this, the Prime Minister instructed concerned authorities to prepare a comprehensive report. He expressed confidence that Gwadar port would soon become a hub of sea trade and highlighted the government’s priority to innovate the fisheries industry in Gwadar. Professional training in line with international standards is being provided to fishermen in the region to exploit the vast potential for exports in the fisheries sector. The delegation appreciated the government’s efforts in providing employment, vocational training, and addressing the overall challenges faced by Gwadar. Additionally, the Prime Minister was informed about the issues faced by shipping clearing agents and assured that their problems would be addressed promptly.
