Islamabad: Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Leghari announced that the government is actively pursuing measures to significantly alleviate the burden of electricity bills on the populace.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Leghari, in a conversation with a private television channel, disclosed that ongoing discussions with Independent Power Producers are expected to yield positive results shortly. He expressed optimism that these negotiations would lead to substantial annual savings of between two hundred fifty to three hundred billion rupees.
The minister emphasized the government’s commitment to providing relief and managing energy costs more effectively, indicating that an official announcement detailing the outcomes of these discussions would be made soon.
