Government Crackdown on Electricity Theft Yields Results


Islamabad, The Pakistani government is intensifying its ongoing operation against power pilferage, resulting in significant recoveries and arrests nationwide. The campaign aims to curb the widespread issue of electricity theft that has been affecting the country’s power sector.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, efforts to combat power pilferage have led to the recovery of ninety-two billion rupees so far. Additionally, more than sixty-nine thousand individuals involved in electricity theft have been arrested across various regions of Pakistan. The operation continues as part of the government’s broader strategy to ensure the stability and integrity of the nation’s electricity supply.
