Government committed to promote tourism: Railways Minister 

Islamabad, December 09, 2021 (PPI-OT):Minister for Railways Azam Khan Swati says government is committed to promote tourism in the country. Talking to media on the arrival of special steam safari train at Golra station in Islamabad today [Thursday], he said Pakistan is a land which is blessed with diverse cultures.

The Minister welcomed the tourists on board and asked them to portray real image of Pakistan in their countries. Pakistan Railways, in line with the vision of the present government regarding promotion of tourism, has run a special steam safari train.

This train was specially made for steam enthusiasts who have come from various European Countries including England, Germany, Spain, France and other countries like USA and Canada. The train was run with specially rehabilitated steam locomotives in Mughalpura Shops and both freight wagons and passenger coaches, having special old colour of railways were attached with this train.

The steam safari train moved to various destinations like Rawalpindi, Golra Sharif, Attock Khurd, Nowshera, Attock City, Basal, Kanjur and Jhallar stations and the steam enthusiasts enjoyed their journey and took photographs of the train at various location, bridges and tunnels.
