Government Commits to Maintaining Stable Sugar Prices Nationwide

Islamabad: In a decisive move to stabilize sugar prices across Pakistan, Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, has issued a directive to chief secretaries to ensure that retail sugar prices remain consistent.

According to Press Information Department, the directive came during a meeting of the Sugar Advisory Board, which was convened to assess sugar stock levels and pricing trends. The Minister noted that ex-mill sugar prices have been stable in recent months and emphasized the necessity for provinces to rigorously monitor and maintain retail sugar prices. He asserted that controlling sugar prices is a core duty of the government and made it clear that any price hikes would be unacceptable.

This governmental intervention aims to prevent fluctuations in sugar prices that could affect consumers nationwide.
