Government Cites Economic Growth Amid PTI Protests

Islamabad: In a recent press conference, Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry, the Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, asserted that the government has earned public trust through its performance.

According to Press Information Department, Chaudhry accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of causing economic disruption, citing a 1.11 billion rupee loss to the national economy due to a recent protest in Islamabad. The damages included public property worth 152 million rupees.

He highlighted the government’s economic achievements, noting a 42% annual growth in Pakistan’s IT sector and improvements in the agricultural and industrial sectors. The “Ghareeb Dost” budget was mentioned as a key factor in enhancing per capita income and reducing inflation, alongside a drop in interest rates from 22% to 15%. The stock market reached a peak of 97,000 points, and efforts to reduce electricity bills were credited with aiding industrial growth.

Chaudhry emphasized national security and praised the security forces, questioning the public on their preference for a future of unity and progress versus division.
