Government Authorizes Conditional Sugar Exports

Islamabad, The Pakistani government has granted conditional approval for the export of 150,000 metric tons of sugar, announced Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain. This decision, made during a meeting of the sugar advisory board, aims to maintain price stability and ensure sufficient domestic sugar stock.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Hussain emphasized that the ex-mill price of sugar would remain unchanged regardless of market fluctuations. He assured that all pending payments to farmers would be prioritized and that the Sugar Advisory Board would reassess sugar prices and market conditions in two weeks. The continuation of sugar exports will depend on these assessments of price stability and stock availability.
