Islamabad, August 02, 2021 (PPI-OT):The government has announced certain restrictions for the cities having high positivity rate of Covid-19 cases to contain rapidly spreading the fourth wave of the pandemic. Addressing a news conference along with Special Assistant on Health Dr. Faisal Sultan in Islamabad today (Monday), Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar said markets will be closed at 08:00 pm with two off days in a week. He said provinces will decide the off days. The Minister said indoor dining is banned, however outdoor dining and takeaway will continue.
He said government offices will observe fifty percent attendance and the public transport will also operate with fifty percent occupancy. Asad Umar said the cities where restrictions will be imposed include Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Karachi, Hyderabad, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Gilgit and Skardu.
He said the restrictions will begin tomorrow (Tuesday) and continue till 31st of this month. The Minister said the rate of positive coronavirus cases surged during the last week and increased the adding burden on the hospitals. He said the government will continue with the successful policy of saving the lives and the livelihood.
