Government and Jamat-e-Islami Resume Talks on Electricity and Other Key Issues

Rawalpindi: The government and Jamat-e-Islami (JI) are set to continue their dialogue today in a second session aimed at resolving disputes over electricity and other pressing matters.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced after the first session that a technical committee, including the Minister for Power, the Secretary of Energy, and representatives from the Federal Board of Revenue and the Ministry of Finance, will meet with JI representatives to discuss these issues further. Tarar expressed optimism that the discussions would lead to an amicable resolution and the peaceful dispersal of protesters.

Liaquat Baloch, a leader from Jamat-e-Islami, speaking to the media, confirmed that the initial discussions were productive and that the government had committed to considering their demands in the ongoing technical committee sessions.
