Islamabad, In her address at the concluding ceremony of the Margalla Hills Half-Marathon, Romina Khurshid Alam, the Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change, reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing the escalating issue of plastic pollution. She emphasized the involvement of various stakeholders to achieve a plastic-free Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Alam stressed the vital role of youth in combating plastic pollution and supporting government initiatives aimed at environmental sustainability. The 21-km long marathon, which drew approximately 200 participants, including women and children, was a joint effort by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board, and several civil society organizations. The event served not only as a sporting activity but also as a platform to raise awareness about the challenges of plastic waste.
