Google to Manufacture 600,000 Chromebooks Annually in Pakistan

Islamabad: Google is set to produce 600,000 Chromebooks each year in Pakistan, according to Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication.

During a media briefing in Islamabad, Minister Khawaja announced that Google has completed its registration process in Pakistan and is planning to establish an office in the country soon.

The manufacturing of Chromebooks has already commenced in Haripur, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence Production and the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation.

This initiative is seen as a significant boost to Pakistan’s IT manufacturing sector. The project aims to provide affordable and high-quality devices, particularly targeting students and the education sector.
