Global Observance of World Radio Day to Highlight Radio’s Educational, Informative, and Entertainment Value

Islamabad, World Radio Day will be celebrated globally on Tuesday, including in Pakistan, to underscore the enduring significance of radio as a primary source of education, information, and entertainment. This year’s theme, “Radio: A century informing, entertaining and educating,” aims to reflect on the medium’s century-long journey in enriching lives across the world.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the day will be marked by Radio Pakistan with a series of dedicated broadcasts. These will include special messages from the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, the Secretary of Information, and the Director General of Radio Pakistan. In addition, live programs are scheduled to discuss the relevance of radio in today’s digital era, emphasizing its role in societal development.

Furthermore, the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation in Islamabad will host a significant ceremony to commemorate World Radio Day. Radio Pakistan is also set to air a special seminar focusing on the national broadcaster’s contribution to disseminating information, providing entertainment, and facilitating education to the populace. These initiatives highlight the continuous importance of radio in fostering informed and engaged communities, even as new technologies emerge.
