According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, this day serves as an essential platform for discussing the progress and challenges in ensuring that access to information is recognized as a fundamental right. The observance is aligned with the efforts to meet the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 16 which emphasizes the provision of access to information and the protection of fundamental freedoms.
