Gilgit-Baltistan Stands in Solidarity with Kashmir

Gilgit, The people of Gilgit-Baltistan marked Kashmir Solidarity Day with fervor, as rallies swept across the region to express support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Demonstrations filled the streets, with participants voicing their opposition to Indian policies in the disputed territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a significant rally in Gilgit City drew the participation of Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of GB for Information Iman Shah, Law Secretary GB Rahim Gul, officials from the district administration, students, and a broad cross-section of the public. The rally, which began at Benazir Chowk and concluded at Ghari Bagh, was marked by slogans decrying Indian actions in Kashmir.

Iman Shah, addressing the rally, accused India of perpetrating violence against innocent Kashmiris. He emphasized the unwavering support of the Gilgit-Baltistan community for their Kashmiri brethren, expressing optimism for a future where Kashmiris could enjoy freedom. Shah called on the United Nations to urgently address the Kashmir issue and to facilitate the realization of the Kashmiri people’s inherent right to self-determination.

This day of solidarity underscores the strong ties between the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, highlighting a shared desire for peace and justice in the region.
