Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has underscored the significance of Pakistan’s relationship with the United States, describing it as a cornerstone of the country’s foreign policy. This statement was made during a meeting with Natalie Baker, the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy, at the Parliament.
In the meeting, Gilani encouraged American companies to identify and invest in new sectors within Pakistan, highlighting the United States’ status as Pakistan’s largest export market. He emphasized the importance of economic ties in strengthening bilateral relations.
Gilani also pointed out the robust defense collaboration between Pakistan and the United States. He noted Pakistan’s significant contribution as a frontline state during the global war on terror, illustrating the depth of the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Natalie Baker, representing the US Embassy, reiterated the United States’ recognition of Pakistan as an important partner. She conveyed President Trump’s appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts in counter-terrorism, further solidifying the cooperative bond between the two countries.
