Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has extended congratulations to King Haakon VIII of Norway on his recent accession to the throne, marking a significant diplomatic gesture between Pakistan and Norway.
According to Press Information Department, Mr. Gilani expressed optimism in his letter to the new monarch, stating that under King Haakon VIII’s leadership, Norway would continue its progress in areas of peace, democracy, prosperity, and social advancement. The acting president conveyed his hopes for the king’s success in fulfilling the duties associated with his role as the Sovereign of the Kingdom of Norway.
Gilani highlighted the enduring friendship and respect between Pakistan and Norway, expressing confidence in the potential for these relations to grow stronger. He underscored the importance of enhanced parliamentary cooperation and increased people-to-people interactions as key elements in fortifying the ties between the two nations.
