Karachi, In a significant appointment within Sindh’s police force, Ghulam Nabi Memon has officially taken charge as the Provincial Police Officer Sindh/Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh. This follows the formal approval and notification by the Federal Government, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the department’s leadership.
According to Sindh Police, upon his arrival at the Central Police Office (CPO) in Karachi, Memon was honored with a Guard of Honor and a General Salute by the police. Demonstrating respect for the force’s sacrifices, he placed flowers on the martyrs’ memorial, recited Fatiha, and prayed for the martyrs of Sindh Police. This act underscores the new IGP’s recognition of the sacrifices made by police officers in the line of duty and his commitment to their memory.
The transition of command saw Memon engaging with senior officers at the CPO, inquiring about their well-being and signaling a collaborative approach to leadership. Meanwhile, the outgoing IGP, Rifat Mukhtar Raja, formalized his departure by signing his resignation letter, facilitating a smooth transition of leadership within the department.
