Islamabad, A 20-member delegation from Global Bridges, a non-profit organization based in Germany, visited Parliament House in Islamabad today to deepen their understanding of Pakistan’s parliamentary functions. The group, comprising German entrepreneurs, academics, intellectuals, doctors, and other professionals, was led by Dr. Hans Albrecht.
According to National Assembly of Pakistan, the delegation received an in-depth briefing from the Special Secretary (Special Initiatives) Syed Shamoon Hashmi, who detailed the workings and history of Pakistan’s parliamentary system. The briefing included insights into the National Assembly’s functions, Standing Committees, and Special Parliamentary Forums such as the Sustainable Development Goals, Women Parliamentary Caucus, Young Parliamentary Forum, and Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights. The delegation expressed appreciation for the comprehensive presentation and participated actively in a Q and A session, reflecting their keen interest in Pakistan’s legislative mechanisms.
Additionally, the visitors toured the National Assembly Hall and were particularly impressed by the pictorial display showcasing Pakistan’s political and parliamentary history, among other significant aspects of the parliament.
