German Ambassador and Pakistani Prime Minister Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties


Islamabad, In a significant diplomatic engagement, Amb. Alfred Grannas, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Pakistan, met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to discuss ways of enhancing the bilateral relations between the two countries. The meeting underscored the mutual interest in deepening trade and investment ties, reflecting the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Germany.



According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude towards German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for his congratulatory message on Sharif’s re-election. The Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s appreciation for its historical and valuable relationship with Germany, highlighting the country as a key partner in Europe.



During the meeting, both parties expressed a desire to elevate the current level of bilateral trade and investment, recognizing the untapped potential for greater German investment in Pakistan. The Prime Minister warmly welcomed the forthcoming visit of a German business delegation to Pakistan, assuring full support and facilitation for a fruitful visit. Additionally, he extended an invitation to Chancellor Scholz for an official visit to Pakistan at his earliest convenience.



Ambassador Grannas reiterated Germany’s eagerness to work closely with Pakistan to fortify their bilateral ties, with a special focus on trade and investment. This meeting marks a step forward in the ongoing efforts to strengthen the diplomatic and economic relationship between Germany and Pakistan.
