Islamabad: In a recent meeting at the Ministry of Finance, German Ambassador to Pakistan, Ina Lepel, and Pakistan’s Minister of State for Finance and Railways, Bilal Azhar Kayani, explored avenues for strengthening bilateral ties and economic collaboration. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the two nations, with a particular emphasis on economic growth and railway infrastructure.
Accompanied by Deputy Head of Mission Arno Kirchof and Economic Counselor Janine Rohwer, Ambassador Lepel expressed support for the growing partnership between Germany and Pakistan. Minister Kayani highlighted Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s commitment to transforming Pakistan’s macroeconomic stability into sustainable and inclusive growth, with an emphasis on export-led strategies.
The meeting also reviewed advancements in upgrading Pakistan Railways’ ML-1 and ML-3 tracks. Both parties pledged to maintain regular communication to further enhance the bilateral relationship, underscoring the mutual benefits of continued collaboration in economic and infrastructural domains.
