Rawalpindi: General Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People’s Republic of China, visited the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi for discussions with General Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff. The visit highlighted the enduring partnership between the two nations, focusing on regional security and defense cooperation.
According to Inter Services Public Relations, General Zhang’s visit included a one-on-one meeting with General Munir, followed by delegation-level talks that addressed mutual interests, regional stability, and strategies for enhancing bilateral defense ties. General Munir emphasized the resilient nature of Pakistan-China relations, rooted in mutual trust and shared strategic goals. He expressed gratitude to Chinese leadership for its unwavering support of Pakistan amidst global and regional shifts.
General Zhang, acknowledging Pakistan’s commitment to their strategic partnership, praised the Pakistan Army’s dedication and expertise in counter-terrorism. He affirmed China’s commitment to deepening the longstanding relationship between the two countries.
Upon arrival at the General Headquarters, General Zhang paid tribute to Pakistan’s martyrs by laying a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada. His visit was marked by a formal reception, including a guard of honor from the Pakistan Army.
