Doha: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, on an official visit to the State of Qatar, engaged in discussions with His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister of Qatar, and held a separate meeting with the Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces.
According to Inter Services Public Relations, both parties explored evolving regional dynamics during their interactions and expressed a mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar. General Mirza highlighted the strong relations between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the State of Qatar, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening military-to-military cooperation in defence and security. The Qatari leadership acknowledged Pakistan’s positive role in ensuring regional stability and appreciated the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.
Upon his arrival at the Qatar Armed Forces Headquarters, General Mirza was welcomed with a “Guard of Honour” presented by a smartly turned-out military contingent.
