Islamabad: Today marks a transformative milestone for gender-based violence (GBV) response in Pakistan as the Ministry of Human Rights, in collaboration with UNFPA Pakistan and Rozan, officially launched the first-ever GBV Helpline Toolbox. Supported by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office under the flagship AAWAZ II programme, this innovative resource aims to unify and fortify helpline services nationwide.
The GBV Helpline Toolbox is designed to ensure that every survivor of gender-based violence receives support that is empathetic, confidential, and professional. This initiative seeks to set a new standard in providing survivor-centered assistance, reflecting a commitment to addressing the complex needs of those affected by GBV.
The launch of this toolbox represents a significant step forward in improving the quality and consistency of helpline services across Pakistan. The collaborative effort underscores the importance of a unified approach to tackle the pervasive issue of gender-based violence in the country.
By offering a comprehensive set of tools and guidelines, the GBV Helpline Toolbox is expected to enhance the capacity of helpline service providers, enabling them to deliver more effective support to survivors. This development is part of a broader effort to improve the response mechanism for gender-based violence through coordinated and standardized practices.
The initiative highlights the crucial role of international partnerships in addressing local challenges. With the backing of the AAWAZ II programme, the GBV Helpline Toolbox exemplifies a strategic approach to fostering sustainable change in Pakistan’s support systems for GBV survivors.
