Frontier Corps Balochistan and Customs Crack Down on Smuggling Operations

BALOCHISTAN, The Frontier Corps Balochistan (North), in collaboration with Customs and other law enforcement agencies, has recently conducted multiple operations across various regions of Balochistan to combat smuggling activities. These operations took place in the Mastung, Nushki, and Dera Murad Jamali districts.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during these six anti-smuggling operations, the agencies successfully intercepted and seized large quantities of prohibited items, dealing a significant blow to illegal smuggling networks. The confiscated goods included 11,100 kilograms of sugar, 30,000 kilograms of urea fertilizer, cigarettes, gutka, cloth, tires, vehicle oil, and other goods, with their total value estimated to be in the millions of rupees.

The smugglers were found to be using trucks and passenger buses to conceal and transport these illicit goods. All seized items have been handed over to the customs authorities for appropriate action.

In reaction to these operations, smugglers and their sympathizers have reportedly blocked roads in protest, demanding the release of the seized items. FC Balochistan’s operations included thorough inspections of passenger buses, which led to the discovery and confiscation of these significant quantities of prohibited items.

Despite the protests and road blockades by smugglers, FC Balochistan remains resolute in its commitment to continue these anti-smuggling operations. This determination underscores the agency’s dedication to curbing illegal smuggling activities in the region, which is vital for maintaining law and order and protecting the local economy.
