Islamabad: A free medical camp organized by the Transgender Protection Centre under the Ministry of Human Rights provided health services to over 100 transgender individuals at the KhawajaSira Learning Center. The event featured consultations with various specialists and distribution of health supplies.
According to Ministry of Human Rights, attendees received free consultations from a general physician, cardiologist, ophthalmologist, and psychologist during the camp. Complimentary medicines, eyeglasses, and diagnostic tests for HIV/AIDS, syphilis, hepatitis B and C, and diabetes were available to all participants. Furthermore, healthcare providers received educational materials aimed at promoting an understanding of transgender identities and the importance of non-discriminatory healthcare services.
