Islamabad: A freak hailstorm swept across parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad, causing significant damage to public and private property, as well as standing crops, according to a report by Pakistan Television.
In Islamabad, several sectors experienced intense rainfall and hail, resulting in damage to vehicles and buildings. Car windows were smashed, and house windows were broken in some areas as the storm made its way through the city.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department had anticipated rain spells for the twin cities this week. They have issued a forecast indicating that similar weather patterns are expected to persist in the coming days.
The forecast for Islamabad and other regions suggests rain will continue until April 18.
