Islamabad, May 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter leader, Altaf Ahmed Butt has condemned the Indian government for framing fake charges against Hurriyat leader Zafar Akbar Butt and seven other Kashmiris for supporting and leading the right to self-determination movement in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
A special court of India’s notorious National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Srinagar has framed charges against eight persons including illegally detained Hurriyat leader Zafar Akbar Butt in connection with a false case registered against them two years back.
Altaf Ahmed Butt in a statement issued in Islamabad said, all the charges against Zafar Butt and others are fake and baseless. “The people of IIOJK are supporting this scared political movement at their own. Basically this is the frustration of Indian government agencies which had lost their control in IIOJK. They want to suppress freedom activists and leadership by putting them behind the bars,” he said.
He appealed to the world community particularly the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, European Union, US, UK and UN to take cognizance of such politically motivated court decisions through which Indian government wants to silence the political leaders of IIOJK who have been fighting for Kashmiris’ inalienable right to self-determination guaranteed by the UN resolutions.
Altaf Butt also denounced the Modi regime’s decision to ban the Kashmiris students from studying in educational institutions in Pakistan. “Modi regime’s policy of invalidating Pakistani MBBS degree is intended to destroy careers of Kashmiri students who have got education from Pakistani medical colleges. After snatching basic freedoms of IIOJK people, Indian government is now depriving Kashmiri students of higher education in Pakistan,” he deplored.
