FPSC Calls for E-Bids for Stationary Supply Amid New Procurement Regulations

Islamabad: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has officially opened the floor for electronic bids (e-bids) for the supply of stationary and miscellaneous items, including toners, for the fiscal year 2024-2025. This move comes in line with the latest procurement regulations to enhance transparency and efficiency in public sector purchasing.

According to Federal Public Service Commission, the bidding process is facilitated through the E-Pak Acquisition and Disposal System (E-PADS), ensuring compliance with the PPRA S.R.O. 296(I)/2023 regulations dated February 27, 2023. The initiative reflects FPSC’s adaptation to digital methods in public procurement, aiming to streamline operations and reduce physical contact points, a crucial factor in current governance.

Prospective bidders are required to be registered with both the Income Tax and Sales Tax departments, emphasizing the FPSC’s commitment to compliance and accountability. Detailed bidding documents, freely available on the FPSC’s official website and the E-PADS portal, outline the terms, conditions, and specifications for participation.

The bidding process, which will not accept manual submissions, is scheduled for closure on September 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with the electronic opening of bids to follow shortly after at 11:30 AM on the same day. The required bid security is set at Rs. 500,000, to be submitted via Demand Draft or Pay Order, underscoring the seriousness and formality of the procurement process.

This procurement exercise not only supports the regular operational needs of FPSC but also sets a precedent for other government departments to follow suit in leveraging technology to enhance procurement processes. The move is anticipated to bolster the efficiency of government operations and is a significant step towards modernizing public sector management in Pakistan.
