Islamabad, The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) engaged in strategic talks with Federal Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, focusing on mutual efforts to overcome economic challenges and foster a conducive business environment.
According to Press Information Department, the FPCCI delegation, led by its President Atif Ikram Sheikh, met Minister Jam Kamal Khan to discuss various economic issues and ways to enhance the business sector’s contributions to the economy. The minister, acknowledging the hurdles like energy supply faced by businesses, committed to close collaboration with FPCCI, stressing the need for regular coordination meetings.
The discussions covered the establishment of a think tank within FPCCI, led by Dr. Gohar Ejaz, former Commerce Minister, aiming to sculpt a long-term economic vision for 2030. The initiative seeks to streamline operations and promote ease of doing business through concerted efforts with ministry departments. The minister welcomed the proposal and promised comprehensive support to realize these objectives.
The meeting also explored avenues to amplify export activities, with Minister Khan underscoring the vital role of FPCCI in these national endeavors. The delegation, including prominent business leaders and former FPCCI officials, outlined the need for cohesive strategies to enhance Pakistan’s export potential and economic resilience.
