Islamabad: Former Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser met with Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani at Parliament House on Monday to discuss issues affecting the tobacco industry in District Swabi. Accompanied by Senator Dilawar Khan, Qaiser sought support to address challenges faced by local tobacco growers.
According to Senate of Pakistan, the meeting focused on ensuring that the interests of tobacco farmers are safeguarded. Chairman Gilani assured the delegation that matters discussed would be directed to the Senate Standing Committee on Finance for further evaluation. He highlighted the region’s reputation for producing quality tobacco and emphasized efforts to support the economic welfare of the growers.
