Islamabad: In the wake of the political upheaval in Bangladesh that led to the ousting of Sheikh Hasina Wajid’s government, India has been facing internal turmoil and seeking to attribute blame externally.
According to Kashmir Media Service, India has accused Pakistan of instigating the regime change by allegedly supporting opposition groups and fueling student protests, with assistance from China. Former Bangladeshi Foreign Secretary Shamsher Mubin Chaudhry has rejected these claims, labeling them as baseless and reflective of India’s attempt to distract from its own diplomatic failures in Bangladesh.
Chaudhry criticized Indian analysts for their portrayal of the situation, suggesting that their narrative serves to obscure the longstanding Indian support for Hasina’s government, which he believes contributed to democratic backsliding in Bangladesh.
