Former Australian Senator Accuses India and Israel of Committing Crimes Against Humanity

Sydney: Lee Rhiannon, a former member of the Australian Senate, has publicly accused India and Israel of committing crimes against humanity over the past 76 years, highlighting a lack of accountability for government officials and soldiers involved in these alleged abuses.

According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking at an event in Sydney, Rhiannon condemned the actions of the Indian government, particularly under Prime Minister Modi, for targeting Kashmiris, Muslims, and Sikhs both within India and internationally. She cited instances of alleged assassinations, including the involvement of an Indian official in the killing of a Sikh activist in Canada, and a charge by the U.S. Justice Department against an Indian government official for conspiring to assassinate a Sikh activist in the United States.

The discussion also included comments from Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Chairman of the World Forum for Peace and Justice, who criticized the Indian government’s abrogation of Article 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir, a move rejected by the United Nations. He described India’s actions in Kashmir as part of an imperialist plan to alter the region’s demographics and political landscape.

Participants at the event, including Rab Nawaz, Chairman of the Australian Forum for Kashmir, and Qamar Zaman, Consul General, echoed these sentiments, calling for international intervention to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations resolutions and to prevent potential nuclear conflict in the region.

The gathering was a platform for raising international awareness and seeking global support for the Kashmiri right to self-determination, amidst ongoing tensions and human rights concerns in the region.
