Rawalpindi, January 19, 2023 (PPI-OT):Former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Major General (retd) Sardar Muhammad Anwar Khan passed away in Rawalpindi, today, after a prolonged illness. The funeral prayers of the late AJK President will be offered at the Race Course Ground, Rawalpindi, and tomorrow (Friday). Major General (retd) Muhammad Anwar Khan was born on May 9, 1945 in Dera Sadozai, Poonch District, and Kashmir. He received his early education from the village Tain. He served as the President of AJK from August 25, 2001 to August 25, 2006.
Meanwhile, the AJK President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, and political leadership have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Sardar Muhammad Anwar Khan.
