Forest Fires Sweep Through Six Districts in Jammu

Jammu, Several forest fires have erupted over the past 24 hours, impacting large areas of forest land and urban regions across six districts in the region, as per local forest officials. The districts affected include Jammu, Udhampur, Reasi, Rajouri, Kathua, and Poonch.

According to Kashmir Media Service, despite the widespread nature of the fires, there have been no casualties or injuries reported. The most significant incident occurred in Poonch district where a fire, originating from across the Line of Control, led to multiple mine explosions in the Salotri forward area. However, officials managed to control the blaze without any loss of life.

In Reasi district, three separate fires in the Ardhkuwari, Bidda, and Mardi areas temporarily halted the pilgrimage to the Vaishno Devi shrine but were successfully extinguished.
