Islamabad, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary, Syrus Sajjad Qazi, has made a significant allegation, claiming that India is behind recent targeted killings within Pakistan. This disclosure was made during a press briefing at the Foreign Office today.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Qazi presented evidence, including financial transactions and confessions from apprehended individuals, suggesting Indian involvement in these incidents. He specifically named two Indian citizens, Ashok Kumar and Yogesh Kumar, as orchestrators of these killings, alleging they paid local agents to execute the attacks.
The Foreign Secretary detailed two incidents. In one case, Shahid Latif, a Pakistani citizen, was killed by Yogesh Kumar. Qazi stated that Kumar hired a local assassin named Umair for this killing. Umair and his associates were apprehended by law enforcement on October 12, 2023, while attempting to leave the country.
In another case, Muhammad Riaz was killed in Rawalakot. Investigations revealed Abdullah Ali, another paid assassin, was responsible for Riaz’s death on September 8 of the previous year. The Foreign Secretary emphasized that both Indian agents had transferred money for these murders.
Qazi highlighted the celebration of these killings on Indian social media platforms and pointed to the confessions of the arrested killers, Umair and Abdullah, along with evidence of money transfers into their accounts.
Furthermore, Qazi accused India of not limiting such activities to Pakistan but also violating international laws in Canada and the U.S. He referenced the ongoing case of Kulbhushan Jadhav at the International Court of Justice as evidence of India’s alleged terrorist activities in Pakistan. The killing of a Sikh leader in Canada was cited as an example of India’s global operations.
The Foreign Secretary asserted that Pakistan reserves the right to raise this issue at international forums, including the International Court of Justice, to hold India accountable for these alleged actions.
