Foreign Remittances Reach Historic Milestone, PM Shehbaz Sharif Commends Overseas Pakistanis

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction as foreign remittances from overseas Pakistanis surpassed $4 billion in a single month for the first time, highlighting the government’s strengthened economic policies.

In a statement, the prime minister thanked expatriates for sending a record $4.1 billion in March, which raised the fiscal year’s total remittances to $28 billion. This marks a 37.4% increase compared to March of the previous year.

The announcement of this record-breaking remittance was made during the Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad, underscoring the dedication and trust of overseas Pakistanis in the country’s economic trajectory.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the contributions of overseas Pakistanis, describing them as a valuable asset. Their efforts not only enhance national pride but also bolster the economy through substantial remittances.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing necessary facilities to these hardworking individuals, recognizing their vital role in supporting the national economy.
