Islamabad, The Foreign Office has clarified that the ongoing Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan encompasses all illegal foreigners residing in Pakistan, regardless of their nationality or country of origin.
According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the clarification was made by Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch in response to queries about a press statement from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. Baloch emphasized that this repatriation plan is in accordance with Pakistan’s sovereign domestic laws and adheres to international norms and principles. She added that all foreign nationals legally residing and registered in Pakistan are exempt from this plan. The spokesperson also highlighted Pakistan’s four-decade-long record of hosting millions of Afghans, reflecting its dedication to the safety and protection of those in vulnerable circumstances. She concluded by urging the international community to increase efforts in addressing refugee situations and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to collaborating with global partners.
