Islamabad, June 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has underscored Pakistan’s consistent efforts to facilitate the Afghan peace process. He was talking to his counterpart Dr. Fuad Hussein on the side-lines of the two-day Antalya Diplomacy Forum beginning in Turkey. Shah Mahmood Qureshi expressed the hope that the Afghan parties would realize the opportunity and workout an inclusive politically negotiated settlement.
The Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of liberalizing the visa regime for facilitating Pakistani Zaireen visiting the religious sites in Iraq. Later, the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also held an informal meeting with his Malaysian counterpart Hishammuddin Hussein on the sidelines of the summit. Both the Foreign Ministers expressed the consensus view that the Diplomacy Forum is vital to promote regional connectivity. They also lauded Turkish government’s efforts in this regard.
