Islamabad, June 19, 2021 (PPI-OT):Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi met with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif on the sidelines of Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Tukey today (Saturday). Shah Mahmood Qureshi congratulated Foreign Minister Zarif on the successful conclusion of Presidential elections in Iran and extended best wishes to government and people of Iran. The two foreign ministers reviewed the entire range of bilateral relations and the evolving regional situation. This was the third meeting between the two foreign ministers in the past few months.
Pakistan, Afghanistan FMs discuss matters of mutual interest
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent policy to strengthen bilateral relations in all areas and achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan. Talking to his Afghan counterpart Muhammad Hanif Atmar on sidelines of Antalya Diplomacy Forum today, he underlined that close coordination is essential to further advance the bilateral relations and Afghan peace process.
Views were exchanged on issues of mutual interest including Afghan peace process, bilateral trade and economic relations during the meeting. Foreign Minster Qureshi reiterated his invitation to Foreign Minister Atmar for a bilateral visit to Pakistan.
FM Qureshi meets with head of Jamiat-e-Islami Afghanistan
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also held a meeting with head of Jamiat-e-Islami Afghanistan Salahuddin Rabbani on the sidelines of Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey today. The foreign minister underscored that Pakistan attached importance to all ethnic and political groups in Afghanistan. He underlined Pakistan’s policy of strengthening across the broad engagement with Afghan political leadership and making concerted efforts to help Afghans reach a negotiated political settlement.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi calls on President of Republic of Kosovo
Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi called on the President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani on the side-lines of Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey today. Shah Mahmood Qureshi conveyed his heartfelt felicitations and warm wishes, on behalf of the Government as well as the people of Pakistan, to the newly elected leadership of Kosovo and expressed that the Government of Pakistan looked forward to working closely to further strengthen the bilateral relations. President Osmani thanked the people and the Government of Pakistan for their warm sentiments and for consistent support for the people of Kosovo after their declaration of independence and at various multilateral fora.
