Islamabad, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Jalil Abbas Jilani, is set to spearhead the Pakistani delegation at the upcoming 22nd Meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) on 26 October 2023, following an invitation from Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to a news release by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the CHG meeting is anticipated to see participation from the Heads of Government of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, along with the Vice-President of Iran and the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and India. Furthermore, SCO Observer States, including Belarus and Mongolia, and Guest State Turkmenistan, are slated to attend.
The CHG represents SCO’s second-highest forum and is primarily dedicated to subjects concerning the economy, finance, commerce, and socio-economic collaboration. On 26 October 2023, Pakistan is poised to assume the esteemed Chair of the CHG SCO. In addition, Foreign Minister Jilani will engage in bilateral discussions on the fringes of the CHG gathering.
