Karachi, November 29, 2022 (PPI-OT):For the betterment of infrastructure development work is going on in different schemes of Karachi city through ADP funds. In all the schemes, resources are being used to make it possible to complete the development work before the as soon as possible. The concerned officers should accelerate the pace of ongoing development works in the city. This was said by Member Finance KDA Syed Shujaat Hussain while presiding over a meeting of senior officials related to development schemes under ADP in the conference room at Civic Center on the special instructions of DG KDA Syed Muhammad Ali Shah.
Public representatives of the concerned district were also present in the meeting. During the meeting, the public representatives pointed out the obstacles in the ongoing development works to the Member Finance KDA. On this occasion, the concerned officers gave a detailed briefing to Member Finance Syed Shujaat Hussain about the ongoing development works. Member Finance issued instructions to Chief Engineers Nadeem Iqbal to implement the instruction of Sindh Government to include sewerage system, repair of dilapidated roads and construction of roads as priorities in the above mentioned schemes, cleaning and cleaning of drains should be ensured by eliminating them.
Slowness in development work is intolerable. In order to eliminate obstacles in the development works, the concerned officers should establish strong links with the contractors so that the citizens can be brought out of the difficulties faced by them. An explanation should be sought on the lack of interest of the contractors, otherwise disciplinary action should be taken against the contractors. It should be ensured that the ongoing development works are completed before the scheduled time.
All possible resources should be used to provide basic facilities to the citizens. He further said that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah are taking practical steps under a coordinated and organized strategy for the residents of Karachi and the city. In this regard, the Karachi Development Authority has the full support and patronage of the Sindh government.
Following the orders of Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, DG KDA Syed Muhammad Ali Shah is taking concrete steps to provide healthy and recreational activities including comfortable travel facilities to the citizens, the effects of which will be visible soon. Secretary KDA Khalid Zafar Hashmi, Chief Engineer Nadeem Iqbal, Superintendent Engineer Tariq Rafi, Superintendent Engineer Abdul Muttalib Manan and executive engineers of all district were also present in the meeting along with Member Finance.
