Food Minister Advocates Collective Measures Against Climate Threats

Islamabad, In light of the escalating threats posed by climate change, Minister for National Food Security and Research, Dr. Kausar Abdullah Malik, emphasized the imperative of a unified and multi-dimensional approach to counteract the looming environmental challenges.

According to a news release by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Malik voiced his concerns while addressing an international climate change conference held at Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad. Central to his discourse was the significance of forest conservation and the necessity for afforestation, both crucial in upholding the planet’s carbon equilibrium.

The Minister underscored the importance of safeguarding biodiversity, noting that diverse ecosystems inherently possess a higher resilience to the adversities of climate change.

In a further show of commitment to collaborative scientific endeavors, Dr. Kausar Abdullah Malik took the occasion to inaugurate the China Pakistan Joint Research Centre on Earth Sciences at the university.
