Islamabad, December 11, 2022 (PPI-OT): Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Secretary General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hissein Brahim Taha held delegation level talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Foreign Office Spokesperson in a press release said that during the meeting, issues related to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, human rights situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Palestine issue, Islamophobia and humanitarian situation in Afghanistan were discussed.
Both sides also exchanged views on vital issues of economic, social and technological cooperation among OIC member countries. It is to mention here that the OIC Secretary General along with a delegation is in Pakistan on a three-day visit. This is Hissein Brahim Taha’s first visit to the country since assuming office in November 2021. During the visit, the OIC Secretary General will call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He will also meet with the Minister of Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs, on others. He will also visit Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The OIC, which is the second largest organization of the world after the UN, with a membership of 57 states has always raised voice against the Indian atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and supported the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination as per the UN resolutions. Established in September 1969, the OIC always raised voice against Indian atrocities in IIOJK. It has been forcefully taking up Kashmir dispute in its deliberations and has passed several resolutions in this regard. It has been supporting the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination as per the UN resolutions since its formation.
