FM Ishaq Dar Advocates for Peace and Settlement of Disputes for Regional Stability


Islamabad, At an Iftar dinner hosted for the diplomatic community based in Islamabad, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to fostering global peace and resolving regional disputes. The event, which sought to strengthen diplomatic ties and promote dialogue, saw Dar highlighting the universal threat of terrorism, as underscored by recent attacks in Moscow and Besham, and calling for a united front against such threats until peace prevails.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dar articulated Pakistan’s readiness to build partnerships aimed at the global agenda of peace, stressing the indispensability of resolving longstanding regional disputes, including those in Palestine and Kashmir, for the realization of collective aspirations for peace and prosperity. He advocated for an “urgent and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza,” echoing the United Nations Security Council’s stance.



In the context of Pakistan’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for the 2025-2026 term, Dar expressed gratitude towards countries that have shown support and solicited further endorsements, asserting Pakistan’s dedication to advancing international peace and security during its tenure. He pledged that Pakistan would strive to revitalize the Council to meet contemporary challenges effectively.



Reiterating the fundamental principles of Pakistan’s foreign policy—peace, equality, and justice—Dar affirmed the nation’s continued advocacy for multilateralism and mutual prosperity. He also recognized the vital role of the diplomatic community in facilitating meaningful dialogue and cooperation between their respective countries and Pakistan, furthering the cause of international collaboration and understanding.



The Foreign Minister’s remarks reflect Pakistan’s broader diplomatic efforts to address critical global and regional issues, promoting a vision of peace that transcends national borders and conflicts.
