Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound sorrow over the destruction wrought by cloudbursts and flash floods across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern Pakistan. In a social media post, he offered condolences to grieving families, assuring affected communities of national solidarity.
The premier affirmed the government’s commitment to deploying all available assets for rescue and relief efforts. Following a conference with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman, Sharif mandated expedited rescue activities in nine impacted districts. Swat, Buner, Bajaur, Torghar, Mansehra, Shangla, and Battagram are among the affected areas, with Bajaur and Battagram prioritized.
The Prime Minister confirmed that immediate assistance is being provided to trapped citizens, medical care to the injured, and heavy equipment is being utilized to clear routes and re-establish communication.
