Five Naxal guerrillas killed in fake encounter in Jharkhand: Say families

Ranchi, April 05, 2023 (PPI-OT):The family members of the five Nexal guerrillas have said that they were killed by Indian paramilitary and police personnel in a fake encounter in the Indian disturbed state of Jharkhand on Monday. The family members said that Indian police had arrested Amar Gnjhu, Ajay Yadav Nandu, Sanjeev Bhuiyan, Gautam Paswan and Ajit Oroan and later shot them in their heads in a fake encounter at Law along in Chatra district of the state. “Police have killed my father Gautam Paswan in a fake encounter as they have been fired from a close range on his head. I will go to Human Rights Commission seeking justice from them,” said victim’s son Chandan Paswan.

As per Chandan Paswan, since the police do not want them to lead a dignified life, hence they killed his father so brutally. The victim’s brother Girija Paswan said that his brother was in regular contact with the police, but he was killed in a fake encounter. “My brother was shot in his head after he was arrested by police. A proper investigation must be done, for which, we will take the matter to the court,” he added.

Santosh Yadav, son-in-law of another victim Ajay Yadav Nandu, also sought justice calling the encounter as fake. “Had there been an encounter, there would have been firing from both sides, but no firing was done from the other side. Moreover, all of them were shot on their heads, which is quite unlikely,” said Santosh Yadav. Meanwhile, four personnel of paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force were critically injured after the vehicle they were travelling in fell from a bridge in Jamui district of the Indian state of Bihar.
